The UNCG Counseling Center joins the rest of the Spartan community in grieving the acts of violence perpetuated in African American and Black individuals and communities. As clinicians for social justice, we are committed to advocating for and supporting those who have been oppressed and marginalized. We recognize the impact that relentless prejudice, racism, stereotyping, and discrimination have on mental health and well-being. In the aftermath of experiencing or witnessing a trauma, and the experience of vicarious trauma, it is normal to have a range of feelings and emotions, such as shock, anxiety, fear, sadness, anger, helplessness, or guilt. If you need to talk, receive support, or want a space to grieve, we encourage you to connect with The Counseling Center at 336-334-5874. Know that are you not alone.
